Implementing Strategies to Reduce the Cost of Employer Based Medical Plans.
An Idea Generated by a Hospital Stay
There must be a better way
After a short hospital stay for a reaction to medication I was billed over $80k. I was administered steroids (a very cheap drug) to reduce the inflammation I experienced. The company's PPO plan reduced the cost to $40k, a fee that was still insane for my condition. The experience started my research for a better and more cost effective health plan for the company. Upon finding such a plan I asked to have my hospital bill reevaluated which reduced the bill to $13k. There is a better way!
